Human EcologyWelfare reform as implemented through the Personal Responsibility & Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) has had a tremendous impact on poor women and their children throughout the United States. While a great deal has been written about welfare reform effects on urban populations, the impact on rural poor has been examined relatively infrequently. Research is being done to find out how communities, families and individuals adapt to changes in policies and economic conditions to improve their economic well-being. |
